Aazhiyaar Dam (Aaleeyaar Dam)

The Aazhiyaar dam is situated in outstrip of 24 km from Pollachi in Coimbatore district. The Aazhiyaar dam was built during the period of 1959 to 1969 across the river Aazhiyaar. The ultimate objective of constructing this dam is for irrigation. The dam comprises several dams getting interlinked by tunnels and canals for restraining Aliyar, Sholiyar, Nirar, Thunakadavu, Parambikulam, Thekkadi and Palar rivers, confining at diverse altitudes for the purpose of generating electricity and irrigation. Amaravathi Dam

Actually, the Sri Dharma Sastha Baktha Jana Sabha desired to construct an Ayyappan temple in the Coimbatore city, which is quite akin to the Ayyappan temple in Sabarimala. Finally, all their desires came true! All the poojas and other spiritual practices were keenly observed and followed as done in Sabarimala. This Ayyappan temple opens from early morning 5.00 am to 9.00 pm. Everyday poojas are made during the early hours and also in evening time. Moreover, special poojas are made particularly during the Ayyappa season.

Dhyanalinga Yogic Temple

Eachanari Vinayagar Temple

Eachanari Vinayagar Temple is a pilgrimage temple, situated in Coimbatore city, Tamil Nadu. This is one of the ancient temples in Coimbatore city as it was build some long year back in 1500 A.D. The main deity of this temple is lord Vinayagar and this temple will be close to the hearts of Vinayagar devotees. Actually, the moolavar in this temple was in fact intended for Perur Patteshwarar temple, as it got spanked on the path from Madurai, Eachnari turned to be the holy place. The deity of lord Vinayagar is 6 feet in height and 3 feet in width. The most recent kumbabishekam of this temple took part in the year 1990.

Lord Ganesha Temple

Lord Ganesha temple is situated in Pollachi Main Road of Coimbatore city. This is one of the most familiar and well-known temple in Coimbatore city. Marudhamalai Hill Temple

The Marudhamalai hill temple is located at a height of around 500 feet in the highland on the Western Ghats. The temple is 15 kms away to north-west of Coimbatore city, and the place has an excellent salubrious weather. Many vehicles will pass through the Marudhamalai temple and the devasthanam has granted three buses from the low slope of the hill to get through the temple on top. The Marudhamalai temple has the deity of Lord Muruga and the temple features quite comfortable facilities to the visitors making their visit to worship the deity. The major feature of this hill is that, it grows essential medicinal herbs, which is used in making ayurvedic medicines.

Perur Siva Temple

The Perur Siva Temple is situated some 6 kilometers away in the west of Coimbatore. The temple was built by the Karikala Cholan and it is constructed on the banks of the river Noyyal. The Perur Siva Temple is purely dedicated to the lord Siva and the deity in the shrine is called as Patteeswaras and His Consort, Pachai Nayaki. The buildings in the outer edge were constructed by the sawyers of Madurai during 17th century. The inner place of worship is quite very old and the temple has prominent figures of the Indian soldiers in the entrance. The temple is also called as Mel Chidambaram.

Ramar Temple

The Ramar temple is a famous temple situated in Ramnagar closer to the Gandhipuram bus stand in Coimbatore city, Tamil Nadu. Daily events as upanyasam and other poojas will take place in the temple during evening times. Kottai Hidayathul Islam Safia Jamath Kottaimedu is a Muslim place of worship, which is located in Kottaimedu, near the railway junction in Coimbatore. It is just 1 kilometer away from the railway junction, were people can easily walk into the mosque to worship. This mosque is popularly known for its architectural work and this is the first mosques that have won such credits. An Arabic college is being a part of this mosque and it functions more effectively with all good standards.
